Process of Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy begins with a thorough examination and digital X-rays to determine the extent of the infection. After numbing the area with local anesthesia, the dentist creates a small opening in the tooth to remove the infected or damaged pulp. The root canals are then carefully cleaned, shaped, and disinfected to eliminate bacteria and prevent further infection.

Restoring the Tooth After Treatment

Once the canals are completely cleaned, they are filled with a special biocompatible material and sealed to protect the tooth from future infection. In most cases, a dental crown is recommended to restore the tooth's strength, function, and appearance. With proper care and regular dental checkups, a tooth treated with root canal therapy can last for many years.
